In his youth, Prince Paul lived in Paris and in England

Frégate Island
In the 80’s, Prince Paul contributed to the touristic development of Frégate Island, an island in Seychelles. The island is the easternmost of the granitic inner islands of the Seychelles (55 km east of Mahé). It is 2.07 square kilometres.
With business partner Peter Hurley, a cousin of Romanian-born Marc Burca who later will organize the return of Prince Paul to Romania by plane in 1990, he developed this venture from his office at 5 Carlos Place, Mayfair, London.
On Frégate Island, the business operated a lovely guest house and a seven-crew ship.
By doing so, Prince Paul earned the respect and the friendship of then Chief Minister, later first President of independent Seychelles H.E. James Mancham who bestowed on him the title of “Friend of Seychelles” for his contribution to the economic development of the country.
